I think Adley is going to be the most loved player since Cal. The crowds eruption when he was announced as the PH’er in the pivotal 8th inning last night was just amazing. Gave me chills. That was 13,558 fans. At least 58 of them were A’s fans, so we’ll just say 13,500. Imagine the commotion when the fans start flocking to Camden Yards. It’s gonna happen.

Not entirely, fan favorite Rougned Odor also received some votes (it was a 5-3-1 voting system).

Good for Adley, who will win this award many times unless Gunnar beats him.
The season turned when he got here and I think that swayed the voters. I am going out there tonight, for the last time this year, so I hope he catches.

Its basically certain that he'll finish top-2, but this is a pretty significant impact on the future of the team. Him having 140 days of service instead of a full year would give the O's a lot more leverage in both convincing him to sign an extension and the value of each year of a deal.
