Doesn't MLB decide based on length of service?

If so, Moose spent more time in an Oriole uniform then the Yankees.

I thought MLB, changed the process, when Wade Boggs sold his allegiance to Tanpa.

MLB is not involved at all with the Hall of Fame decisions, either the voting or the hat selecting.  HoF is independent of MLB.  They pick what hat a player will wear based on where the player made their biggest impact, though they do take the player's wishes into consideration.

BTW, Boggs denies that he tried to go into the HoF as a Ray.  True or not, the Hall of Fame changed their policy after his induction so that they don't simply defer to the player's choice, a small team of people there make the decision.

Thanks, makes sense, the HOF should decide.

Mussina's numbers as an Oriole are better pretty much across the board. The picture MLB Network showed tonight had him in an O's hat for what it's worth.

But truthfully, while I'd obviously prefer him go in as an Oriole, it's not a huge deal to me. I just hope he gets his deserved entry into the Hall.

If he goes into the HOF as an Oriole, does he eventually get a statue?

Yes, IMO. Even if he goes in as a Yankee, I think they should. You couldcertainly argue the statues are only for Orioles HOF that also won a WS with the O's, and Moose doesn't qualify. But I think Moose belongs out there.

His statue should be him in mid-dip while going from taking the signs to the set.

Moose is arguably the best pitcher in Os history. He deserves a statue.

I mean, Frank has one and wasn’t exactly here for a long time.(at least as a player..I realize there is more to it than just his playing days)

However, I say zero chance they give Moose a statue.

I think it'll be a while but he gets one eventually.

Just saw another ballot that voted Vizquel but not Moose.  I just don't get that logic at all.

A guy casted a public ballot who hadn't voted since 2014.  He voted for Mussina.  At this late stage, any "add" for him is huge.

Zippy chance if he goes in as a Yankee.

I wonder what the most seasons played for the Yankees is for a Hall of Famer who did not go in as a Yankee.  Mussina played for 8 years as a Yankee, 10 as an Oriole.

Winfield went in as a Padre, after playing 8 years in San Deigo and then 9 in New York (then a few more bouncing around).  Winfield accumulated much more of his accolades (All-Star appearances 8 to 4, Gold Gloves 5 to 2, and top-20 MVP 6 to 2) as a Yankee than as a Padre.  Mussina had far better accolades (All-Star 5 to 2, Gold Glove 4 to 3, top-10 CY 7-2) as an Oriole than as a Yankee.

I really think unless Moose strongly asks to go in as a Yankee, that he will go in as an Oriole.

A small team of people from the hall decide.

Well shit, if that is the case then I have no doubt they will pick the O's.  we have far fewer HOF's than the Yankees and he will get a statue with us, which he wouldn't get in NY.  I am not one who was mad at MM for going to the Yanks, PA didn't resign him when he had the chance and when the man was open to it.  I would have done the same and anyone on this Chat Site would too.

Well, yeah. I don't see a Luis Aparicio or Roberto Alomar or Reggie Jackson statue at Oriole Park.

I do hope that the O's have some kind of on-field ceremony planned this year for Smith and Baines, and that Mussina would be included in that if he gets in.

Ok, wow...I didn't know about much of this.

Geez, Steinbrenner is a bit of a douche.
