He should be unanimous...but he shouldn’t have been the first guy.

Goes to show how some of the old assholes are gone. That’s good.

Very happy Moose is in. I hope he goes in as an Oriole and eventually gets a statue and all the other honors.

Rivera doesn't necessarily deserve to be the first at 100% but I am very happy that the stupid rule about "Babe Ruth didn't get 100%..." is now broken.

When will we know what hat Moose is wearing?

Look up past years it seems like it was announced relatively soon after the election results. So probably within a few days at most.

Mariano Rivera’s list of greatest accomplishments now includes getting 425 baseball writers to agree on one thing.

As many have already started to joke, at least other than Marriott and Springsteen...

Connolly:

Mussina on Bal vs NYY: "Both orgs were tremendously valuable and important in my career & I wouldn’t be here … if it wasn’t for Baltimore & for New York. I can’t sit here and make a decision on where we’re gonna go with that... Certainly by July we’ll have something worked out."

As for the Moose "plaque hat" debate, I once asked him his preference since he spent 10 years in Baltimore and eight in NY. His response: "Good things happened in both places. I can't sit here and say I favor one over the other." Greg Maddux has no logo on his cap w CHC/Atl split

He never lead the league in any major category.

There are only 10 pitchers who have more wins since 1969

By almost any measure, Mussina is a top-20 pitcher since the mound was lowered, which means he's a top-20 pitcher over the last 50 years. Half-a-century. Adjust that ERA for the fact Mussina pitched in two hitter-friendly home ballparks (Camden Yards and Yankee Stadium) in the rough and tumble AL East at the height of the so-called Steroid Era -- this is exactly what ERA+ does -- and Mussina is a top-10 pitcher since the mound was lowered.

Fifteen pitchers in history have at least 11 seasons with 150 innings and a 120 ERA+ or better to their name. Twelve of them are in the Hall of Fame and they're basically the 12 greatest pitchers who ever lived. The three who aren't in the Hall of Fame: Roger Clemens, Curt Schilling, and Mike Mussina. That is the company Mussina keeps. His consistent greatness puts him among the all-time best.

Congrats to Moose.   I hope he goes in as an Oriole, but not going to be too upset if he doesn't.

I could see the blank cap for Moose.  That feels like something Moose would do.

Again, I hope he picks the Orioles because it is going to be a long time. before we see another Oriole HOFer.

Does Moose get a statue at Camden Yards, if he picks the Orioles.

The Yankees could put him in Monument park too.

Maybe it is just me, but Moose seems more fitting with a statue in Oriole Park.
