@alex_prewitt Life update: No big secret now, but after two years on the Terps beat, I'm moving onto the new world of covering the Washington Capitals.

So Nestor fired Drew Forrester, Glenn Clark, Ryan Chell, Paul Kopelke, and Ashley Bishoff today...
Nestor writes that changes are coming as of 9/2...

I was just about to post that. Personally I didn't care for Drew, neutral more than anything on Glenn, liked Ryan. I can't really speak on the latter two.

He sold out to Peter Angelos?

He wrote a few paragraphs about letting these guys go, and then 3 plus pages about how great he is?
That was really really weird.

I just found the whole thing a bit odd..
Look, it's his baby, he can hire and fire whomever he pleases, just thought the approach in the "letter" was a bit over the top self promotion. But to be fair again, it's his gig.

For Nestor? It would be weird if he DIDN'T do that. That's who he is.
I really enjoyed Drew and Luke in the morning, and thought Glenn did a great job on his own as well. Maybe Nestor will just be on all day since he's so awesome and all. He is absolutely unlistenable to me, but I guess some people like him.

Mike and I haven't told you guys but we are leaving BSL to go to NST. Sorry bout that.
I'd see you lasting about 2 days over there...I think it's fair to say that you're not exactly the type to hold back.
That's a compliment by the way.

I mean, they are pretty poor and knowledge isn't good but they have been loyal to Nestor.
Is he trying to bring more knowledge?

Do we have any idea why he did this?

Screams to me a business move, as in, not doing well. Getting rid of salary, while filling content working yourself (whom you don't have to pay).

Word I've heard is that it was advertising driven, not personal.

That 4 page manifesto was hilarious. Flat arbitron ratings. Unimpressive web analytics and social reach as well.
I don't see any chance that he is looking to add 'talent.'
There are a number of theories out there... but w/e, I'll wait and see what Nestor says in his next manifesto.

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."
"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

Imagine what he'd say if Angelos just up and fired 5 employees with no reason given....
You'd read all about it in chapters 1-8,462 of "The Peter Principles", I'm sure.

His show will be replayed throughout the day. He wasn't happy with how things were going, he's making the change... he likes his chances.
