They completely sleepwalked through that one. I was expecting a clunker sooner or later; I just didn't expect it to result in a win.

Re: Wichita State, I just have this feeling that they'll roll into the Sweet Sixteen, then lose by 25 to the 4/5 seed. I mean, getting absolutely blown out of the building.

We went to the Towson/William & Mary game, so i didn't watch at all, but the box score is far from flattering.

Unless them lay a real egg tonight, I wouldn't really put much stock into this one. They just didn't look like they cared much. Maybe they were finally just worn out.

Agreed, another one tonight. Senior night!

UVA still likely needs to win the ACC Tourney, whoever wins that has a good chance at the #4 seed, assuming the status quo is kept this week.

Lunardi has my beloved Georgia State as a #14 seed, playing Iowa State in what would be a really fun game to watch!

Heels still projected in the 4/5 range, to be expected.

Hopefully they can sweep the week and get ready for the tourney.

I will be mildly surprised if UNC only loses by single digits.

Duke won't be running out of gas in this game.

http://www.cbssports...son/CUSE/KANSAS

After looking at this....Kansas should, no doubt, have a 1 seed IMO.

They have played one of the toughest schedules of the last 20ish years.

They have 12 top 100 wins and 16 in the top 100.

They won their conference, which is a very good one this year.

Duke and Cuse are close...if they play again, the winner will have the leg up on the other IMO.

But if one of them win the ACcT and Kansas loses in their tourney(at any point), then I think KU should still get the 1 seed.

And btw, Kansas beat Duke, which obviously should be in play here.

Why is Comcast SportsNet (NBC) showing rankings through top 50 on their NCAAB scroll? Just saw that #38 Pitt was playing unranked NC State tonight at 9. What are they basing the 38 on?

Btw...Wich st has 3 top 50 wins, including at St Louis.

But, they have 22 wins outside of the top 100 RPI schools.

I think they should have to win their tourney to get a 1 seed and if they do get the 1 seed, they should be the weakest 1 seed.

Kansas should get the Midwest and WSU should get the east, with the Cuse/Duke winner getting in that bracket.

Absolutely... I think Wich St is legit... But they definitely aren't getting a No. 1 without winning their conference Tourney.

If I had to guess they're showing it because that's about the end of the bubble not including AQ's. Also, a guess the top 50 is probably their power rankings, if not maybe the RPI?

In terms of seeding and selection -- how much should it matter between resume versus how good you are right now? The committee after all takes into consideration injuries and will dock teams as such.

I think the committee clearly places an emphasis on how a team is performing heading into the tourney... But it's certainly a blend of both. I remember MD being on the bubble until Gilchrist carried then to an ACCT Championship. They ended up as a #4 seed IIRC.

Everything should be taken into consideration.

But, overall, I agree with Bilas...the biggest thing is who have you have played and who have you beat.

On a bit of a different note, I didn't used to think being ranked in the top 25 itself in the middle of the year was that big of a deal -- the whole, it's not how you start but it's how you finish. However, it was pointed out on a different board all the advantages of being ranked in the top 25 -- scores get shown on the crawl, they make the highlight shows, easier to find, etc. For example if I'm a Cleveland State fan, I'm looking all over the place to find the score, but if I'm a St. Louis fan, just log onto espn.com and it's right there.
