A neutral (TBS), and two that are more "homer" for a specific team (TNT, truTV).

Interesting concept, assuming I don't have a dog in this fight (very unlikely to happen after all), I can definitely see myself channeling surfing.

I don't care if Maryland's broadcast would have Johnny Holliday and Len Elmore doing the game. If it's on TruTV I'm out. I can't handle thirty Hardcore Pawn ads during the show.

I love the idea of homer specific simulcasts, that is a great idea.

Jim Hunter might apply for this gig.

They should do a special fourth broadcast with Joe Buck, Dick Vitale and Billy Packer doing the game, with the pre-, half and post-game shows hosted by Colin Cowherd and featuring Skip Bayliss and Stephan A. Smith.

I would hate-watch the hell out of that.

CBS, Turner announce broadcast teams for the NCAA tournament

On Tuesday morning CBS Sports and Turner Sports announced the on-air talent for the tourney. There are some changes this season compared to recent years. For starters, the Final Four will not air exclusively on CBS for the first time in decades. The national semifinals on Saturday, April 5, will be broadcast on TBS.

The national title game will air on CBS on Monday, April 7.

Greg Anthony will replace Clark Kellogg alongside Jim Nantz and Steve Kerr, as and the three will comprise the No. 1 broadcast team for CBS/Turner at the Final Four. Kerr will work alongside Marv Albert for the first two weekends before sidling up with Nantz and Anthony for the final three games of the 2013-14 season. Tracy Wolfson will again be the sideline reporter at the Final Four and national title game. Turner's Ernie Johnson will lead hosting duties at the Final Four for the first time, and he'll be joined on set by Charles Barkley, Clark Kellogg and Kenny Smith.

Greg Gumbel will host studio duty from New York City and Matt Winer will host from Atlanta for the first two weekends. They will be joined by Reggie Miller, Seth Davis, Grant Hill, Doug Gottlieb, Grant Hill and college coaches to be determined later.

Gottlieb, who of course contributes here on CBSSports.com from time to time, will work at games the first weekend and then head to the studio for the regionals.

The top four teams will also work from second-weekend sites.

Jim Nantz / Greg Anthony / Tracy Wolfson
Marv Albert / Steve Kerr / Craig Sager
Verne Lundquist / Bill Raftery / Allie LaForce
Kevin Harlan / Reggie Miller / Len Elmore / Rachel Nichols
Ian Eagle / Jim Spanarkel / Lewis Johnson
Brian Anderson / Dan Bonner / Kristine Leahy
Spero Dedes / Doug Gottlieb / Jaime Maggio
Andrew Catalon / Mike Gminski / Otis Livingston

Wow, they bumped Kellogg to studio crew.

I can't believe that CBS is giving up the semis. I get bringing in other channels to make sure every game in the first two weekends sees live coverage.

I mean, why don't they just give up the championship game to TruTV so they can show a Mike and Molly rerun?

Yeah that was a while ago, Greg Anthony has been the lead analyst all year, not just for the Tourney. The Final Four was already going to rotate in a few years between CBS/Turner.

Rece Davis is very well schooled in the various metrics to help neutralize college basketball rankings. But there was an interesting debate on GameDay today about the merits of Wichita St. as a #1 seed and a #1 overall, and also Virginia's ranking as the potential ACC Champions. Jalen Rose was making some really good points about how we tend to overrate the teams beyond the 1st tier of the major conferences. I think I agree with him.

The calendar flipped to March today and were officially out of the worst sports month of the year.*

*This worked out better when the Super Bowl was being held in January, now it's debatable if it's really the worst sports month.

These Virginia Bow Ties are legit. Ugh, that's frustrating.
