6 years ago today...

That turned into probably to most professional model of sportsmanship I've ever seen. Galaraga was visually stunned, but didn't explode in a raging fit. Joyce owned up to it right after the game. He felt terrible and didn't try to hide from the media, or justify it. He admitted fault 100%, which most can't do these days. The next day Galaraga brought the lineup card to Joyce at the plate, shook his and hand and said "it's ok". The crowd cheered, Joyce had tears.

A lot of life lessons can be taught by those few moments.

So basically as it stands now, between the AL East Crown and the two wildcards, (3 spots) 5 teams are in contention: Baltimore, Toronto, Detroit, Houston and Boston. Detroit and Cleveland could be interchangeable if Detroit takes the lead there.

Meh, Houston is too inconsistent for me to consider them a serious wild card contender. Detroit still has a subpar bullpen once you look past K-Rod. Not to mention Brad Ausmus isn't known for his bullpen decisions (at least not for his good ones).

I'll proudly say that I thought the same thing about Houston last year and I was wrong. I don't see it this year with them. Altuve is only one mighty dwarf. He can't do everything.
