RE: Vavra - What a joke. If nothing else you could at least say this trade cleared room for Holliday or Mayo. But, no. At least Ramon Urias is loving life right now.

Weber said it was going to be Vavra.
Come on....

Norby, while likely very expendable longterm, actually should have had a legit role this summer if they aren't going to call up Holliday and/or Mayo.
Yep, Norby is way better than Vavra.

Getting angrier the more I think about this, because its hard to see how they're considering doing anything else in the rotation after this.
I hate the target AND I hate the price. I think this is worse than doing nothing. I don't understand it at all.

Would've rather had Cal Quantirll.
Can't believe we paid a similar amount for Rogers as it took to get Fedde (plus more). I can't make that make sense.

Maybe this belongs in the positivity thread, but:
By acquiring Trevor Rogers, the Orioles likely can move Albert Suárez to the bullpen, where he has excelled. He has a 3.62 ERA overall and a 0.90 ERA as a reliever.0.90 in 10 innings with a .189 on-base % against him.
Suárez moving there could be huge
It's a legitimate point, but it isn't helping at this time.

It's not a legitimate point. Suarez moves to the pen with any SP acquisition. Rather than an actual decent SP they acquired a SP that very well may need Suarez to replace him in not too long.
Rogers is optionable and I imagine that had to play a part in why they valued him. Which is not good. Why value the fact that you can send someone down when that means they must be pitching bad enough that you'd need to?

We're gonna watch Snell and Flaherty go for less than Norby & Stowers and I'm gonna get madder and madder.

They picked up two mediocre starters for expendable people. I'm happy for Norby and Stowers because they deserve a chance to play. Not particularly thrilled for the Orioles.
I'd rather they'd went for a good reliever than this guy.

Cobb another rental I'd rather have had than Rogers.
I desperately hope they have a magic plan for him and I end up looking stupid.
