Is doing what he did that much better at providing grip than just putting a rosin bag in your hip pocket? (No idea...)

He'll need a healthy shoulder for bagging groceries.

Are you kidding? He'll be the only guy they bring back next year.

Duq mentioned it.
He can't get out righties and hasn't been stretched out for years.

They say they stretch him out every spring. Which is true I do remember him starting in spring games.

He could be stretched out to start games... but that's not the same as being counted on to start every 5th day... his IP the last 4 years are 98, 51, 51.2, and 49. How many innings could he go in '16... 100?
And that doesn't even address the issues he has with RHB... (2015 numbers vs. RHB were fine, but he wasn't exposed to the best either.)

He's not even that good as a LOOGY, and we're paying him $7 million (?) so I think the better value is in letting him start, but the O's paid him for being a LOOGY so I guess they value what he gives.

Made $3.2M last year, won't make $7M in '16.
He did overwhelm lefties in '15...
101 ab's, .186 baa, .565 OPS against, 4 bb's, 38 k's

I got the $7 mil from O'Day's potential contract.
Matusz will get $5 mil, approx, correct?

That seems about right, but haven't looked at it much tbh.
While he was effective vs. lefties... I'm still surprised the O's tendered him a contract.
