'Bout damn time. Don't understand why we needed a month of Arauz. At 25 there sure isn't any point in playing service time games with Vavra.

440 OBP in July.
.148 ISO too. Pretty close to his normal level considering Harbor Park is pretty pitcher friendly.

Called up.
Not sure why it took so long.
I guess Arauz got last nights game as a going away present.

So, do you start him everyday over Odor?

I would but I bet he plays 3-4 games a week for now.

In the pre-game interview yesterday Hyde said “it is going to be nice having a left handed batter off the bench.”
So that narrows it down to Vavra or Odor, lol.

It would be really disappointing if he's not starting relatively consistently.
There was something in Hydes voice, that made me think Vavra was just going to be a bench player, He mentioned he was managing to win games, and that Vavra was basically the 5th outfield option.

Unless he's really bad defensively, he should be starting at 2B if they're trying to win games.

Odor had a 600 OPS in June and 660 in July. Pretty hard to bench that type of production...

He’s fine out there, probably a notch below Odor but he shouldn’t hurt you too much. Can play a decent CF/LF, doesn’t have the arm for RF.

That was my thought, but the way he said it, did not give me that feeling.
After thinking about it, it made me wonder if they look at him as a Jahmai Jones type?
Bob, this is where you give me reasons why I am wrong and make me feel better about him.

No he is certainly better and more consistent than Jones defensively and has a true hit tool and plate discipline. Should have a good career as a utility player if he can’t hold down second base.

Really like the fire Odor brings to the table, and he's solid defensively. He just doesn't hit enough to warrant regular playing time.
