Any relation to Joe?
Doesn’t appear so but not 100% sure.

Any relation to Joe?
Just doing a quick search, I found a previous news story about him where it describes his father as having "played professionally", but doesn't name him. Seems like that would be a notable fact.

Found the bio at the college he coached at, wasn't mentioned.

So thankful we got to have him for the time we did though.

Same and I wasn’t even a huge Kobe fan. I mean, I was a fan of his but nothing like so many. I was always more of a Kobe guy than a LeBron guy. I don’t think Kobe was better but I preferred his mentality. He was the closest thing to MJ for me.I cried a couple times. This one really hurts. Watching those old clips, I just loved watching him play growing up. I'm heartbroken. Sounds stupid, but I'm legit heartbroken over this.
So thankful we got to have him for the time we did though.
But he does represent an era of life in sports. Have basically followed him since we were both in HS.
Add to that his daughter and other people, it’s really heartbreaking.
His death is no more important than anyone else and he certainly had his issues in life that can’t be overlooked when talking about him but stuff like this can really shake you, especially when you have kids.

Taking Kobe's celebrity out of it, momentarily, the loss of the kids, on a way to what was probably an exciting event for them, makes the tragedy even worse.
Hug your kids today.

I'm not sure if any other celebrity death has hit me harder. Sticking with sports, Sean Taylor was really difficult for me as well.
But of course there are others that are suffering much greater than I due to these tragic deaths.

I just hate thinking about the fact that this devoted father -knew- he was going to die, and -knew- his daughter would, too...and there's literally nothing he could do to prevent it.
That's just a level of helplessness that I would never wish on anyone. My goodness.

That is what has been racing through my mind too. How awful those final moments must have been.I just hate thinking about the fact that this devoted father -knew- he was going to die, and -knew- his daughter would, too...and there's literally nothing he could do to prevent it.
