I feel bad for being so effected (if it's true), but it's only human nature to have more grief for someone you've known way better than the others on the helicopter. That doesn't mean I am not saddened by the others, it's just human nature to feel that way.

That is truly horrible.
Bryant was a year older... remember feeling what it was like to be in HS at the same time, and see him going to the league.
For all he accomplished on the court, I found him more interesting off of it... he seemed likely to do some bigger things in his remaining retirement years.
*Even last week, he had some interesting comments on the 3 WNBA players.
Crazy this comes the day after James passes him, and the comments James had on him, and Kobe's shout on Twitter.
