Hope this isn't true. One of my favorite athletes of all time.

Geez, hope the hell not. Be eerie that it's just a day after he was in the spotlight for LeBron passing him on the scoring list.

Looking more and more likely that it’s true.

Horrible news. 5 people in total dead.

Fire on board caused the helicopter to crash.

Oh his wife too? I didn’t see that.

Feel awful for their kid(s).

I feel bad for being so effected (if it's true), but it's only human nature to have more grief for someone you've known way better than the others on the helicopter.  That doesn't mean I am not saddened by the others, it's just human nature to feel that way.

Man, that hurts.  Helped get me back into the game.  Probably the best pure scorer of my lifetime.  RIP Kobe.

Damn.

That’s horrible.

Sorry Pedro.
I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

Good. Glad that info was wrong.

This is so terrible. I can't believe he's dead.

That is truly horrible.

Bryant was a year older... remember feeling what it was like to be in HS at the same time, and see him going to the league.

For all he accomplished on the court, I found him more interesting off of it... he seemed likely to do some bigger things in his remaining retirement years.

*Even last week, he had some interesting comments on the 3 WNBA players.

Crazy this comes the day after James passes him, and the comments James had on him, and Kobe's shout on Twitter.

My mind went to Roberto Clemente when I saw the post.  Very sad.

This is horrible news.  I don't even know how to put this in to words, I'm just shocked... shocked.
