The Orioles are describing this as right lat discomfort, which is a back muscle. A source close to Grayson Rodriguez said the pitcher feels it’s just a cramp, but they’ll learn more after testing

Cramp or no cramp, I would skip him a turn just to be sure

Balt Sun: https://www.baltimor...6ixu-story.html
Grayson Rodriguez, the Orioles’ top pitching prospect, has been diagnosed with a lat muscle strain, an industry source with direct knowledge of the situation told The Baltimore Sun. The severity is not yet certain, the source said, and there isn’t a timeline for recovery in place currently.
“Safe to say he’ll miss some time, and probably a decent amount of time at a minimum,” executive vice president Mike Elias said Thursday after announcing the injury.

This just makes me sick. Likely within a couple of weeks at most to getting called up and now who knows what happens from here.

Yeah a 2024 call up sounds about right.

Ugh. But agreed, glad it isn’t shoulder/arm related.
It actually is. Lat muscles are tied to the shoulder and arm.
Rodriguez was always a ticking time bomb because of the way he points the ball to second base, just like all the other pitchers that do it. This is just the first of many injuries if he doesn't change - which he likely won't.

Thanks Dr. French. JTrea is an expert so when he tells you the lat is the arm it has to be true. I know it sounds like complete BS but trust the doc
