Why? Gentry is a bum.

Good defense and has speed. A good guy to have around when rosters expand.

No worse than Rickard and if Rickard can be sent down (and I think he can), that could be the better move.

Rickard it is. From O's official twitter:

The Orioles have reinstated OF Anthony Santander from the 60-day DL (right forearm strain) & optioned OF Joey Rickard to Triple-A Norfolk.

Gracias

Wise move.  Gentry brings some things to the team that we do not have.  Speed and excellent defense.  No reason to lose him for what amounts to two weeks.

I think Joey is a decent 4th outfielder, who hits left handed pitching.  He will be back  September 1.

Nice debut for Santander. Nice diving catch and got his first hit.

Yeah he's certainly played well enough to earn his spot at least as long as it takes to acquire his rights in full.

He was horrible in the AFL and I said at the end of the season he needed to earn his spot. Considering we've made minimal moves this offseason and hes had a solid spring you might as well keep him for the 40+ days

Good to see the power number going up and the nice K rate, but that walk rate is ridiculously bad.

Balt Sun: Anthony Santander is finishing strong this winter. Can he factor into the Orioles' 2019 plans?

He should get a chance. Right field is wide open right now.
