I have no issues with Santander. He's a good ML player with the opportunity to be more than that. If he's one of your OFers, you're doing OK. I want someone like him hitting 6th or 7th in my lineup.
....but you have to decide what you want to do with every position. It's not like you have a the choice not to make choices. Playing Santander is a choice. Trading Santander and playing Stowers in a choice. If you like Stowers, you have to make room.
I'm of the position he gets traded. Honestly, I'm surprised it hasn't already happened (so I'm wrong there) for a couple of reasons. Maybe there's reasons he hasn't been traded. Some of them are fine, some of them could be more concerning. We don't specifically know.
My approach is fairly simple. Sort team stats by RF and look at the bottom of the OPS column.
The team that jumps out is the Padres. Their options aren't working and they don't have good options now or later. Having a multi-year service player like Santander is value to them. They are 29th in RF OPS at .506. They need help now and later. That would seem to be the easiest trade.
SD is in the CompA group with the Orioles this year. They've also struggled with what to do with Dinelson Lamet.
Santander for CompA and Lamet would solve things on both sides.

No chance he walks 80 times. Heโs walked much less in May than April.
I think they told him to swing more, He has had some clutch hits in the last week or two, but that's goodIMO he was hunting walks early on.

You can always keep Santander, and have him get time at DH... with Mancini not extended or traded, and Stowers taking over RF.
You don't have to do anything.

Santander isn't part of the future. He is not a good player and no he does not have the opportunity to be more than that. Again, dude shows that his player evaluation skills are suspect.

He's a JAG, but JAGs can have value. I think he's a legitimate MLer... and yeah, he's also a guy you want to improve on.

JAG is far from "good with the potential for more". The potential for more part is the bigger problem with his statement. We can quite confidently say no there isn't a chance for more at this point. His defense will only get worse as he ages and the bat is what it is within the boundaries of luck and sample size

He's 27 and I described what he's already done. How's Pache working out for you.

I think he's fine to have if he's one of the worst guys in your lineup, if he's one of the best you're in trouble. I don't follow other teams much, but he's batted 2-4 in 42 of 48 games for the O's, would much rather have him at 6-7.
Definitely a good rule 5 pick though. Good enough guy to get for ~nothing.
I'm happy to trade him mostly cause OF seems to be a strength of the minors.

Hes done nothing.
Have no clue what your on about with Pache like I made some declaration that he was a stud. Only interaction was in terms of what Oak got from Atl vs what you wanted to give up for Olson. That said, not surprising being the disingenuous poster that you are, that you failed to mention the jump Langeliers has made up the prospect list over the last few months. At least according to pipeline.

It is impressive to have 8 HR in 196 PA( close to a 30 HR pace) and have a slug under .400 and ISO at .175.

Sure, fine to have in your lineup if hes one of the worst , is cheap, and you can go year to year with him. dude has talked about extending him in the pastI think he's fine to have if he's one of the worst guys in your lineup, if he's one of the best you're in trouble. On pace for ~30 HR.
Hoping he can stay healthy for a full season.

I know, you do not like Santander as a player, but I think you underrate him. When he is healthy, he is solid IMO. I agree, guys like Santander, get more than what they should but that is true of many players in baseball. All that said, I expect Santander to be dealt, and I am pretty sure I won't like the return.

There's certainly a consistency in opinion that doesn't age well.
