Santander has IMO become a very important part of the team.  He probably is the MVO this year.  I know Rutschman is going to get a lot of love and Adley and Gunnar will probably vie for the award the next 10 years, but I think Santander is the guy this year.

 

Have I missed him saying he would not DH?

Preferably they upgrade at first, but if not, Santander should be in competition for time there if he can develop defensively to be respectable at first.

He is not a good player and no he does not have the opportunity to be more than that. Again, dude shows that his player evaluation skills are suspect.

You have showed off your evaluation skills a fair amount.  You seem to lack the maturity to understand you are getting lapped.  Maturity that might come with more years under the belt.

DH him mostly. Hope he can do it again for another year or two. I hate the batting avg and I would be expecting the BB rate to drop vs going up or being maintained. That said, the power is legit. There are worse things then having a relatively cheap .250/.310/450 DH

Especially if he can become a legit option at 1B to go along with being a respectable enough option in right.

Santander has had a good year, and he seems very popular with his team mates, His .247 BA is not good, but it is slightly above the league average .242.  I think he becomes mostly the full time DH next year, and probably spends time in RF when Adley DH's.

I would agree if he was here all year.  You may be right, but if I had a vote it would be Santander.

I knew I was going to get posts saying Adley.  I still think it is Santander, but it would not surprise me to see Adley get it.

The enormous gap in defensive value (and expected offensive output at their positions) more than makes up for the difference in time on the roster imo.
