Six shut out innings with six strikeouts only allowing one hit and two walks tonight.

Any chance he could make the roster out of ST next year?

Any chance he gets a September call up and makes a couple of starts?

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

Yes to both.

He is getting close.  Zimmerman is the next addition to the roster.  If Akin gives more of the same in his next start, Zimmerman will take his place.  I think Baumann gets an audition in September when the rosters go to 28, either as a 6th starter or maybe they move Lopez to the pen.

I have seen Baumann in person a few times, and on MILB a few times this year.  There is something about him, that makes me think he is going to be a good big league pitcher.  He reminds me a little of Tillman, but Baumann has better stuff IMO.

Would be really good for the psyche if he can make a few good starts and provide some sort of positive development from an upper level Orioles minor leaguer.  Almost entirely backwards movements from the guys at AAA to begin the year.  Kremer, Akin, and Diaz all imploded.

Yep, me too.   The kid is inconsistent but he has a special arm.   I guess he makes 3 or 4 starts in the last 26 games.

I missed the news and was pleasantly surprised when I turned the game on late and saw him in there.   Agreed this gives me some interest the last few weeks, I hope they let him have a few starts.

I think he will wind up starting 2 or 3 games.  I think he did not get to Baltimore until yesterday morning. It made sense to let him settle in for a few innings.  They played it well yesterday

Big Mike has the arm talent.  The big question is health and also, how many innings they allow him to pitch.

I think he starts in Norfolk.

Back up in replace of Zimmermann.  Has done nothing to earn the promotion.

Baumann is on the taxi squad so he can give them some innings today.

Maybe we see Watkins in Zimmerman's place.  Neither IMO are good options right now.  The lack of pitching depth in the rotation is glaring.  These guys are going to kill the bullpen.

If you want guys who can give multiple innings I don't think there's a lot of good options at AAA right now unless you're ready to go with Hall.

I still think Baumann has a chance to help the roster at some point, and I understand he was on the taxi... not expecting a long stay here. Just disappointed by his lack of performance this year at AAA.  He's been poor.   Want to see the '19 version reemerge at some point, and at-least be a guy that can help the 'pen.

Hoping he can find his confidence and find himself.

Re: Hall... yeah, I've said, I'd already have him up working in tandem with Wells.
