I'm very pleased seeing him show something. Ks matching the innings for the year. Only 23 hits allowed.
Yeah, a 24 year old advanced college arm at Frederick isn't overly exciting.... but given his 1st round pedigree, he presumably has arm talent. If he stays healthy enough, that should come out.
Would be interesting to see him move up to Bowie to finish the year.
Without further setbacks health wise, and with continued production... wouldn't be crazy if he was in the mix this time next year.
That would be pretty awesome for a guy most of us left for dead.

Meoli:
Cody Sedlock is here with Double-A Bowie after a standout year with Frederick (2.36 ERA, 1.05 WHIP). Likely will be in piggyback role the rest of the way after injuries limited his innings the last few years. #Orioles
Luke Siler:
Some context for those who have just seen him repeat Frederick 2x, his stuff is up big time from his previous two injury ridden campaigns, it’s pretty close to where he was draft year. It’s not just figuring out the league. It’s likely relief profile, but useful arm #Orioles

@JonMeoli
“Not a lot going for the Baysox today, but Cody Sedlock was 90-93 mph with a real four-pitch mix today in his Double-A debut. Wanted to see it for myself all year, and he is certainly back. #Orioles”

If he's now truly right physically, his ceiling isn't relief.

That sounds like a good plan. He has more time to get here, then Harvey, but they both need to move fast.

Promoted to AAA
Is that because he has been doing something or because the O's are out of any semblance of a pitcher?

The latter. He's purely organizational depth at this point.
He's got one year left before he can leave as a minor league free agent. It's possible he gets added to the 40-man and called up, but he certainly hasn't earned it yet. He didn't earn this promotion either, so maybe playing well isn't a requirement.
