Joe Posnanski: Today’s Game Ballot
He breaks down the ballot, but more importantly makes a very good point about how the ballot itself is flawed.

Bud's in.
HardballTalk: Report: Bud Selig elected to the Hall of Fame
Longevity I guess. Mediocre commissioner and owner.
Maybe the voters liked the hairpiece.

Senseless to keep steroid guys out when the enablers are in Hall of Fame. I now will hold my nose and vote for players I believe cheated.

Good!!
Do whatever you have to do, but make sure Barry Bonds is in the Hall of Fame!

Tired of all the crap with the HOF voting. The whole voting process IMO, needs to be overhauled, and some of those who have votes need to go.
All that said, enough with the holier than thou, approach by BB writes. Vote based on the numbers, and let the cheaters in. They were playing against other cheaters so maybe it was a even playing field.
I know it is a stupid argument, just tired of hearing about Bonds, Clemens, and others every year.

Exactly.
Let the best players in, and if so important to talk about the steroids, put it on their plaque.

I just tweeted at Slusser about that and she said its absolutely defensible to not vote for them because of the character clause stuff.
What a bunch of horse shit. I hate these damn writers.

Now that there are tests, suspensions, and penalties for PEDs, is it even cheating? If you get caught, you pay the penalty, then move on.
Is a balk the pitcher cheating? Sometimes you get away with it, sometimes you don't, and if you don't, you pay the price and continue on with the game. How absurd would it be for some HOF votes to refuse to vote for a pitcher because he got called for a lot of balks and the voter just can't know how many more should have been called that went undetected.

All ballots will need to be made public starting in 2018.

That's a good thing. Why the grace period? Or is that for the 2018 class, meaning the next time they vote?

Pretty sure it's just the next time they vote.
