Good Article on John Means in the Sun today.
He apparently had thought about retirement. From there to an All Star.
I hope he gets in the game tonight.

He got an all expense paid trip to the Cleveland.
Maybe him and the fiancee got to the Rock N Roll HOF.
And the winners share of the ASG, what ever that is.

25 games, 21 starts, 117.1 ip, 107 hits, 17 hr's, 32 bb's, 95 k's
Home splits better than Road.
He's owned lefties.
Has allowed just 3er over his last 12 innings, but still a 6.23 era over 7 starts after the AS Break.

Nice recovery for him after he was trending in the wrong direction for a while.
Also good to see him finally getting deeper into games.

I think he had the mid season aches and pains. He has looked great the last 2 games though.
He could have finished last night

Alvarez is the clear winner, but great showing for Means. He kept battling, did the work, and had a terrific year.

I didn't really see anyone mentioning it, but Means was hitting 95 on the gun yesterday.
The had Palmer piped in for part of an inning and he was commenting he'd never seen Means throw that hard.

The had Palmer piped in for part of an inning and he was commenting he'd never seen Means throw that hard.
I think he was amped up because it was his first game, and also was probably stronger than normal because he had not pitched in almost 3 weeks.
It would be great if he could hold 95 and keep the change up, but I am guessing he will sit at 91-92 as a norm.
