You like old French places in general?

Sure, why not?

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

Damn, that's an awesome lineup. Loved everywhere you've been but haven't been to buffalo or Ottawa. Montreal is my second fave N. American city behind NOLA.

I've been to Asheville before and absolutely loved it, but not to any of the others, well except for when I was like 9 and went to Niagara Falls and Toronto.

Any recommendations for any of the places you've visited?

In Buffalo go to Anchor Bar and/or Duff's

Anchor Bar's wings are meatier, Duff's has better sauces.

Ted's Red Hots is an amazing hot dog spot.

I met a couple that lives in Buffalo at the Super Bowl party I was at and they said Duff's is great, but bashed Anchor Bar.

Seven Lives Tacos y Mariscos in Toronto. We didn't go when we were there...we found out about it after we left and we stayed right around the corner (ARGH). Supposed to be amazing.

Montreal

La Banquise for poutine. Open 24 hours, so go after a night of drinking.

Dieu de Ciel is a great beer bar, great selection, and there's a cool Soviet-style cocktail bar across the street called Bar Kabinet.

Joe Beef was on an episode of Bourdain, looks like a great upscale manly restaurant...didn't make it there either.

St-Viateur for bagels...go early.

Go to the Jean Talon market and sample stuff...they have amazing food stalls.

I have a ton of other recommendations...hit me up on PM if you want some more.

It's a local thing.  Because wings were "invented" at Anchor Bar, the tourists like to go there so the locals thumb their nose at it.

But the wings are really good.

Kind of like Pat's and Geno's in Philly.

Yep almost exactly like that.

It's almost as if you admit you like a popular touristy place you lose your local card.

Vegas was fantastic.

I really have nothing more than that, but it was great. Gambling, drinking, Freemont (!!!!!), and just plain being lazy. No real debauchery, which is pretty strange for a pervert like myself. LOL

I have a ton of stories, but I'll save for another time. Other than the Guy Fieri restaurant, I have no complaints.

I missed this comment.

I love New Orleans so much. I've only been twice, but each time was amazing. I don't know how to describe it, but there's a happy laziness there that makes you feel good to be alive. I wish I knew how else to put it.

Also, the strip clubs are legit.

NOLA isn't a place, it's a state of mind.

My wife went the last time she was in Vegas, and liked it, so she wanted to go back.

It's funny, because (not sure if you're my friend on fb) she HAAAAAAATED it this time. She even got a little sick.

We went to Gordon Ramsay's steakhouse, as well...and that was one of the best meals I've ever had.

Just booked air to Vancouver in early May. My wife is out there for work so I am going to join her for a long weekend. Anyone ever been? Recommendations?

Booked a Norwegian Cruise from April 29-May 6. My first cruise with Norwegian and only my second cruise ever. First was with Carnival on my honeymoon. Seems like a lot to do on this one. My first vacation in three years so I'm pretty excited.

Yeah I think that's the last stop after St. Thomas and Tortola. Anything good to do there with two kids?

Take a cab out to love beach (downtown is garbage). It's my usual spot, but they have these cool little natural pools and alcoves that are perfect for toddler kids to explore. One of my DEA coworkers brings his 3 year old every sat/sun, and I swear he is in heaven every time. A small bar/restaurant right on the beach too. I'll bring the beer.
