They are a member, just didn't win anything this year.

OK. Understandable I guess....not really crazy about any of their beers but Counter Culture is the shiznit.

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

I've always been a big fan of their Oyster Stout and they make a solid Marzen as well.   Having said that they are pretty damn huge and successful at this point (kind of like HS) so they don't really need my $.  I like to try and grab new stuff from new breweries if I can.

Been in Milwaukee for the weekend for another Marathon. A buddy of mine hooked me up with this great beer case for shipping back some quality brews that aren't available in Maryland.

So I'll be sending home some Moose Drool, Alaskan Amber,s several quality brews from New Glarus, and a 6 pack of a sweet potato porter from Milwaukee brewing!

Recently bought a 6 pack of "Bulletproof Mustache" from Freys brewing company.  Terrible.  The beer is so over carbonated, the first one I poured I lost half the beer because I wasn't expecting a foam explosion from a simple pour.  Once the beer finally settled, it didn't taste that good (I think part of that was the style of beer, farmhouse IPA).

Yeah those farmhouse ales, saisons, etc. have been so overly carbonated it killed it for me. I once returned some to Flying Dog once because of that and the brewer actually had me come in and taste it, and he seemed like it was OK so I guess they go for it.

I also think it can become overcarbonated in the bottle if it sits too long.

I did a little research on the style and it does mention that there should be a foamy head to the beer but nothing like this.  It took ten to fifteen minutes for the bear to settle before it was drinkable.  I have a feeling that this one had been sitting on the shelf for too long also.

In much better news, Nugget Nectar should be showing up on shelves this week in Marlyand.

I had a hefeweizen from a local brewery..Feed the Monkey?  That was pretty good.

Of course, I struggle to find German beers I don't like.

Father in Law came into three cases of assorted DuClaw brew.  Had a For Pete's Sake yesterday, chocolate/peanut butter stout...not bad. Also had some kind of chocolate/raspberry stout, again not bad. Now I am trying a Neon Gypsy Blood Orange IPA...not bad either. Not particularly crazy about any of these beers but they're, you guessed it, not bad.

Maybe that should be their motto or something.

Naked Fish is their Choclate Raspberry Stout, one of their best beers they make although I haven't had it in years.

Have you had the Horchata Lager from Flying Fish?  Brewed with cinnamon and vanilla bean.  Its from their Otterbein collection, where you pair it with their cookies.

Its pretty damn good.

Their amber "Sawtooth"  might be my favorite amber out there. To save time I think we should just say that Left Hand is a top notch brewery.
