Just heard him on The Fan talking with Scott & Jeremy. Seems like such a great dude.

Anywho, his manager in Norfolk laid into him before the game the other day because he was "lollygagging" around when the position players were warming up. He said he was confused because he always warms up with the pitchers out in the pen. So he voiced that to the skipper saying that's why he wasn't warming up.

The skipper pulls him aside and says, I don't appreciate you talking back like that in front of the guys, i'm benching you tonight. Then about 10 seconds later, he says, oh, BTW, the main reason you're getting benched tonight is because you're heading to Tampa tomorrow... you got the call kid, you're heading to the bigs.

Haaaa... so many emotions right there.

I said this in another thread....but who knew we traded for Austin Hedges and he's been wearing Joseph's jersey.

Second HR the other night.....be great to get a little more offense to go with some pretty solid D.

Average still under .200, but a 3rd homer for Joseph last night. Defense has been good.

Going to be interesting to see where his numbers end up this year.

One of the things I like about him is he swings the bat.  I don't mean in the sense of going after everything, but he's trying to hit the ball hard out in front of the plate.  Schoop does the same thing...even though he's struggled some, he usually takes a rip.

Urrutia drives me crazy when it looks like he's trying to pull every ball out of the catchers mit.

We should pull up his hot zones....but why in the world would any pitcher use the inside half of the plate.....Caleb seems to love that ball down and in.

Per MASN...

Showalter doesn't necessarily view Joseph as the favorite to back up Wieters and the other candidates must beat him out for the job.

"I hadn't really thought about it that way," Showalter said. "We've got a lot of guys to pick from for the most part that stay in the mix, whether they make it or not. I like that flexibility. But the familiarity we have with the job that Caleb did last year certainly works for him, but that doesn't mean it favors him and I don't think he expects that.
