Yes, true, didn't realize what a butcher he was. Still it's the NL and he's a good bat, gotta play him somewhere, and LaRoche is generally considered a good 1B, no?

I didn't figure it out until I blogged about it, don't feel bad. Saw him in person in rehab, TERRIBLE.

Yeah LaRoche isn't a bad 1B at all, but in the NL you gotta cram guys places, and that 30HR needs to be in the lineup.

Pretty surprised by this move. Should be fun to watch though.

Selfishly I would've wanted to see him start at home. Not sure if this is going to be a long-term or just until Zimm is back. Seemed to caught Mark Lerner off guard when he was asked about it. Nats seem to be serious about competing this year, else they wouldn't have done this move (yes I know how good they are right now, but it's relatively speaking small sample size)/

A smoked double, and a great throw from Harper last night.

They will go through struggles, but with the 2nd WC, I absolutely expected them to be a contender.

I doubt you see Harper go back down. Maybe if he struggles miserably, but as long as he is competitive, he is probably up for good.

Did you see the throw Harper had last night? Good god what a cannon of an arm he has.

Yep. In three days, he's already made two amazing throws and should have had two assists so far instead of none. Can't believe the ump called that guy safe last night. You can certainly see all of the tools. Very good speed, great arm, and power. He wasn't doing great in AAA so the question is can he hit consistently enough at the ML level right now. Cahill made him look bad on his changeup last night but that's no crime.

Yeah he'll have some ups and downs this year, but he'll still be fun to watch.

I was at the game, it was quite something. I've never seen a crowd give such an applause to someone after they didn't the call on the field. I still can't decide if he was safe or out upon the relievers. Gun to my head, I say tie goes to the runner.

Harper talking to Toronto media:

Adam Kilgore ‏@AdamKilgoreWP
Toronto radio asks Harper if he's going out for a beer. PR guy cut if off. Harper adds, “I’m not answering that. Thats a clown question bro”

Keep in mind that Harper is old enough to drink legally in Ontario (age is 19).
