I don't think so, but not impossible. Think at minimum they'll want the service time and maybe super II status. He seems to be a slow starter at every level. He should be a freshman in college (I think), give him some time at Syracuse and bring him when he's ready. I don't think the Nationals will be much more than a 500 team this year, but they do have a better chance if the playoffs expand next year.

I agree with Oriole85. I think due to Super Two retraints they will wait until June-July to call him up.

Nice little top of the rotation for the Nationals. Could be an interesting year for them.

Just another source for some info and conversation, but I've done some blogging about the Nats over at http://exileontheana...a.blogspot.com/ if anyone is interested.

With the money wrapped into Werth, that projection has to be rather scary for Nationals fans.

A 1 year deal for Jackson is a very nice signing. That Nationals will be an interesting team to watch this year.

Hate to say it this is going to be an exciting Nationals team. Outside of extensive injuries, their pitching is top 4-5 in the league, IMO.
I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

I agree. In the 2012 Early Thoughts thread, I have them making the playoffs.

I won't even lie. I picked them to make the playoffs, and I'm going to follow them MUCH more closely this season.

Should be a really competitive division this year. Phillies will obviously still be good, although maybe a bit weaker overall. Marlins and Nats are both improved and should be around .500. Braves are always good, another team that should be around .500. Might be a rough go at it for the Mets this year, but I won't lose any sleep over that.

I'd love to see the Nats win the division. They'll never come close to being my team, but they're certainly my 2nd favorite and my primary NL team. Their pitching should be sweet and their offense is nothing to scoff at either. I'm excited to see what they can do.
