That's fair. Pitch framing played a fairly big role in my rankings.

That's awesome honestly. I wonder how much emphasis the MLB Network folks put on that..

I believe Kenny mentioned it a couple times. Valle was big on D, but I doubt he put much emphasis on the framing numbers.

They all seemed to be big on D, but then Wilin Rosario was on the list and Matt Wieters wasn't, so....

Whatever though, it's all good. I love lists.

Wieters was pretty brutal with the bat last year and he's not a good pitch framer. You have to be expecting a bounce back to have him on the list. I am.

I am as well.

nothing against Rosario, he's a good hitter, but there's a reason the rockies made a play on Ruiz this offseason. I just thought Wieters should have been on the list above him.

I had him third. He had that capability but he should be lower IMO.

I rushed some of these lists and am not happy with some of my selections.

RF:

Me:

1. Braun

2. Puig

3. Stanton

4. Heyward

5. Bautista

6. Werth

7. Pence

8. Myers

9. Victorino

10. Craig

Rob:

3. Bruce

4. Puig

5. Bautista

6. Myers

7. Victorino

8. Heyward

9. Pence

10. Craig

Kenny: 1. Braun 2. Stanton 3. Puig 4. Heyward 5. Werth 6. Bautista 7. Craig 8. Bruce 9. Myers 10. Pence

Shred: 1. Puig 2. Braun 3. Bautista 4. Stanton 5. Craig 6. Beltran 7. Werth 8. Victorino 9. Pence 10. Heyward

James: 1. Braun 2. Bruce 3. Stanton 4. Heyward 5. Pence 6. Bautista 7. Victorino 8. Beltran 9. Puig 10. Hunter

DeRosa: 1. Beltran 2. Stanton 3. Bautista 4. Werth 5. Craig 6. Pence 7. Bruce 8. Hunter 9. Puig 10. Cuddyer

So you were right Seth about BK having Bruce in his top 10. DeRosa didn't have Braun on his list more as a statement than anything else.

Bill James had him second, i thought it was third. Again though, despite my unhealthy love for Jay Bruce, I agree with the lists for the most part...Allen Craig's BA with RISP last season was absurd.

Bruce was #11 for me. His durability almost got him on the list. I think he's a safe choice for late in the top 10, but I like the upside of others more.

If memory serves, I didn't have Myers on my list, and had Bruce fourth, behind Braun, Stanton, and Puig.

Why so high?

i just like the guy, super consistent, always puts up numbers. Finished 10th in MVP voting last year.

i don't know what his WAR was though, so you may have me on that.

His fWAR was 4.1 last year and 5 in 2010, but only 5.2 combined the two years in between. His AVG is generally pretty poor, especially for his position, and that drags down his OBP and SLG. He's still good, but not at the level of the guys I listed IMO. But he'll probably have a better year than some of them because he's so durable.

I was wondering how you had him that high after you said what you did about how much stock you put in pitch framing. BTW, with the pitch framing numbers being what they are, why is it that you put so much stock in them, relative to a lot of other SABR folks who are still quite unsure of it's validity as of yet?
