A Red Sox ownership group that doesn't want to spend money on the team, is a Red Sox ownership group I can get behind.

Hal Steinbrenner chaired a committee that voted to increase the luxury tax penalties, and John Henry / FSG let a franchise icon walk out the door rather than pay him market value. Oh, and John Angelos cited the Rays business model as the preferred way of running a franchise.
The times, they are a changin'.

Apparently Curt Schilling revealed that Tim Wakefield and his wife are both battling cancer, which they were trying to keep private.

Curt Schilling said on his podcast the Wakefields are fighting cancer. Hard to imagine why he would do that, but he did. To say that people with the Sox and others around Tim and Stacy are furious is an understatement. All the best to the Wakefields, who are very nice people.
Seriously, Curt Schilling is as toxic as people can get.

That last Rays executive sure worked out for them.

Hes actually a good manager but still.
Hard to believe that they'd allow a mediocre manager like Cora wield so much power.

RedSox commit to Giolito for 2 years and just under 40M and he can opt out after 2024.
Is it mean to say I'm glad we get face him more in the AL East?

Thanks for continuing to do dumb things, Boston. Good Lord, what happened to this franchise?

40 M does not seem to buy as much these days.

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."
"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

When you have a chance to sign the first pitcher since 1899 to give up eight earned runs for three teams in the same season, you just have to do it.

The Red Sox have traded Chris Sale to the Braves, according to Jeff Passan of ESPN. Well-regarded infield prospect Vaughn Grissom is the return for Boston. The Red Sox will also reportedly be sending $17 million to the Braves to help cover Sale's $27.5 million salary for 2024. Sale waived his no-trade clause to go to Atlanta.
