Toronto takes Stroman. Do you think the Jays will use him as a reliever, and push him to the Majors quickly? Or do you think they will give him a chance to start?

I think they'll start him this season in the minors, and maybe promote him if they are in the hunt down the stretch.

Sounds like Vlad is opting out of his contract with the Jays and likely heading to retirement.

If only the O's had signed Vlad last year to a minor league deal instead of bidding against themselves. And last time I checked I thought Vlad was putting up good numbers in the minors.

Yeah, he was. 4 HR in 12 games. 1.043 OPS.

A dude died at the White Sox-Blue Jays game in Toronto last night. Apparently, he went into cardiac arrest in the stands. The umpires actually halted play of the game, because the EMT's were allowed to bring him down on the field and use the left field exit.

Craziness.

Didn't read that part until just now, very scary stuff.

Toronto is now 10 games under .500, and 15.5 behind NY. Has to be disappointing, since many considered them to be a dark-horse.

Toronto is basically a shell of what they were at the beginning of the year. Injuries to Lawrie, Bautista, and Morrow have really hurt them and Ricky Romero went from ace to probably worthy of being demoted. The O's have 6 games coming up against them, really hope they can take care of business.

Good point. I'm a big Romero fan (as a pseudo ace, very strong 2), but he has had a very rough year.
The injuries just show how the best laid plans can be ruined...

I have not gotten all the praise for Toronto in the past few years. The best they've finished has been 4th, yes I know it's the AL East but still.

Hopefully we can continue playing respectable at Skydome (I'm not calling it anything else).
