Man, Vlad is awesome a lot of the time, but 2022-23 is a lot different than 2021 and 24. 500-600M would scare me.

I think 21 and 24 may be a true indicator of his ability more so than 22 and 23. He's had elite offensive metrics the entire time, just didn't translate to the raw statistics.

His defense is bad, though, and he's not going to win any speed contests.

That's fair, but yeah the defense isn't going to get better. I would fear a Ryan Howard or Mo Vaughn type of deal, though on the plus side he's still only 25.

Yep, agree it is definitely the org's failing if they can't get any good FAs or even any of their own home grown players to take their money.

They have no farm system, haven’t gotten the most of the talent/window they had. Willing to pay up for Ohtani and others but not their homegrown star. Going to be the worst team in the AL East a lot for the foreseeable future post 2025.

MLB’s latest $500m man (Vlad Jr extends with the Jays on a 14 year deal).

Guerrero's deal reportedly contains no deferrals but does have a full no-trade clause.

 

I'm guessing this deal also means Bo Bichette will be drawing his paychecks somewhere else next season.
