Yankees could certainly have a good year but they have numerous guys on the wrong side of 30 yrs old. Not just a few. Judge is 32 himself. With his injury history Im not sure Id be betting on him to continue to be one of the top sluggers in the game. He should still be good. He may still be great. But you should begin to have some concern when the clock strikes 30 on any player. Ive said it a million times. This isnt the 90s steroid era where 30+ yr olds dominate the game. Its a young mans game now.
There were 94 qualified hitters with a 100 or higher OPS+ last year. Only 18 of them were beyond their Age 30 season. Only 11 of the 71 guys above 110 OPS+ were 31 or older.

Judge is also a massive human. How well do guys who are 6'7 280+ pounds, who already have an issue staying healthy, age?
He could be a Dave Winfield type, but here's hoping he isn't.

I read a ways back there have been less than 500 AB in baseball history for players age 35 and older who are at least 6’7”.

Can't believe they haven't signed Snell or Montgomery yet.
Ive said Ive always felt thats where 1 was going. If Cole is out for any amount of time that becomes a stone cold lock

Apparently in on Cease.
Cease to the Padres. Between that and the Cole news, wonder if they panic and give in to Boras for Snell/Montgomery.

Sources: Yankees’ superstar Aaron Judge is dealing with an oblique issue and his toe is still ailing him from last year
He is still expected to be ready for Opening Day but he has some pain to manage which is why NYY being cautious

And he's playing center much of the time?

He had like 14 AB in almost three weeks of Spring Training. Yeah, cautious is one way to describe that.

The argument is that Jasson Dominguez will be back mid-season to take over CF. Considering Judge basically said he’ll be dealing with foot pain the rest of his life, it’s a pretty crappy argument. They really should’ve made signing a CF a priority.
Unless they’re considering Verdugo that CF.

Don’t worry. Big comebacks aren’t sustainable. They’ll all be injured soon enough.
Hate that the Yanks have started hot with some big comebacks. Dont want them feeling themselves
