You just knew to say fair enough to me while just automatically quoting whatever I said.

Not lumping in at all, no need to overreact. I know you don't think he "sucks". It's all good, my friend.

Cool. Cool cool cool. :)

Russ,
Learn from me, buddy, it's just not worth it.

I've finally learned.

Hey...

I agree he's a legit HOF'er. I agree he's done pretty well at the role model thing in various ways, and that's more than you can say about a lot of guys. So, as you can see, it's not like I have a grudge against him about anything... except for (a) the fact that he's a MFY, (b) all the whining-at-the-ump he does about called strikes, and © the fact that when ARod showed up he insisted that ARod move to 3B so he could stay at SS. None of those things change that fact that, if I was a HOF voter, he'd get my vote in the first year he was eligible.

To me, item © is the one place he really lost some respect in my mind, simply because he made his own team worse, the team that gave him a big stage and zillions of bucks, and he did it just to feed his own ego. Back when it happened, I said the baseball gods aren't gonna like that, and they didn't if you go by all the WS they didn't get to when they should have. Do you agree with any of that? Or do you think he was as good a SS as ARod was?

I just put on the Rangers-Rays game and they showed a highlight of Jeter hitting a HR to tie it in the bottom of the 9th (would never have come to that if Jeter made a play in the top of the 9th according to Joe Sheehan).

Anyway, the announcer then says that "Jeter deserves to be in the MVP discussion, right?"

But yeah, he's not overrated at all.

My @ feed, summarized: Jeter hitting a game-tying home run makes up for him having the lateral range of a lawn chair.

During tonight's loss to the Jays, the Yankees suffered another injury as Teixeira went down with a calf injury. Girardi said he would probably miss the rest of the Jays series and possibly this weekend's series against the O's.

Would be helpful for the Birds, if true.

Not sure if you're friends with SBTarheel on Facebook, but if so, you can see that another Sheehan tweet applies to my conversation with one of his friends.

Anything negative about anyone at any time, no matter the viability of the position or the evidence in support = "hating".

And I thought it was funny when he was batting in the heart of the order for the Astros.

Exactly!

Have the Orioles ever DFAd a player and then that player go on to bat cleanup for the mighty New York Yankees later in the season?

Between an older/injured lineup and an average pitching staff, this team is very catchable. Their offense is still good and CC and Kuroda have been solid this year, but they certainly aren't the powerhouse they have been in years past.
