I should look back at the beginning of this thread. I think the gist was that some of y'all didn't think the Yankees offense was any good after Judge......that hasn't warn well guys....lol

Rice and Grisham are surprises that I don't think will sustain. If they are stars, then the Yankees are really dangerous. If they aren't, then the Yankees offense is very average other than Judge.

Its early but Rice is smoking the ball right now. He smoked the ball in the minors too.

Jorge Mateo had a better April in 2023. We'll see if it's sustainable for Rice. He had great minor league numbers but was always old for the league.

Yeah, good comp. I suspect he's a major league hitter, but I don't think he's an All-Star 1B.

Something tells me people dont think Rice couldve lead a package for Cease or King in the offseason. But really they are similar.Kjerstad brings no defensive value. Same age. Similar numbers in AA and AAA. Why you cant get hung up on a prospect ranking. The only reason Kjerstad cracked a top 100 list and Rice didnt is because he was drafted #2 overall

Kjerstad also had a medical excuse for his late development and Rice didn't. That might've been a factor in the rankings.

Grisham is Mateo, though. No chance he's actually this good.

My guess in this particular case would be that based on Rice's career minor league numbers he probably deserved to make some back end top 100 lists. Like I get that he is a 1b but you have to respect the numbers. I also think Kjerstad never deserved to be Top 50 considering he's never had a glove and was older. One overrated and the other underrated.

Goldschmidt still had decent advanced stats last year, so I expected him to still be decent. Of course he found the fountain of youth, just because.
