I don’t think you need to intend to say something racist in order to say something racist. Apologize and learn from the experience instead of trying to cover it up as an “inside joke” which turned out to being 100% false.

This was all I could think about after the chanting the other day. I can see only considering Donaldson's comments to be insulting but not necessarily racist, but the Yankee fans chanting "Jackie" at him, after knowing that Anderson considered the remark to be racial, is 100% racist.

Yes. Donaldson also knew because he initiated this same interaction with Anderson previously and Anderson confronted him on it then.
