No way does Mussina belong in the Hall of Fame. Incredible low bar these bonehead writers are setting now for HOF entry. Total fucking joke.

This is a poor take, even by your standards.

Maybe it means nothing, but the photo of Mike Mussina the Hall of Fame picked for today’s press conference has him in a #Yankees uniform. #Orioles

Frank Robinson went in with an Oriole cap (I've heard this mistake by a couple of callers on The Fan the past couple of days...and they were told otherwise)

Moose was asked at the press conference today, the last question of the day, which hat he would wear.

He still doesn’t know. Said he is going to discuss things with the HOF.

It’s an interesting decision. The organization that believed in you and drafted and developed you or the that “showed you the love”.

His obvious disdain for Angelos could play a role here.

Olney:

Favorite Mussina story: In Game 1 2001 WS, Arizona hammered his fastball-curve-change repertoire. Game 5, he was throwing a pitch at a different speed and pitched well. Afterward, I asked, "Did you really break out a splitter in the World Series?" He grinned and said, "sshhhh.."

It’s really annoying to see every MLB ad showing Mussina is him wearing a Yankees uni.

They should have waited for Miguel Cabrera to be the first unanimous selection because of Triple Crown!!!

I'd just as soon he keep the Yankee hat for his induction. And shove it up his ---.

Traitor.

So someone is a traitor if they're willing to stay at current place of employment, but aren't offered a market rate, and then accept the best offer given?

I will never understand the people that blamed Mussina.

It was all on PA.

No one would apply the logic that goes with that vitriol to average joe's in comparable situations.

Fandom isn't always logical though.

Right.

Would you beat up on someone if they left Under Armour to go to Nike?

I was seventeen when Mussina left, and I did blame him for it.

Then I grew up.

Right.

Would you beat up on someone if they left Under Armour to go to Nike?

Why would I care if they were with Under Armor or Nike? Why would anyone?

I don't doubt he had reasons to leave, but a consequence to leaving was losing people like me as fans. Which probably doesn't mean a hill of beans to him.

Exactly.

I can't imagine being mad at another adult for switching jobs in order to make a lot more money in the real world. It's kind of funny when you think about it.

19 pitchers since 1900 won 250 to 299 games. Mike Mussina has the highest career winning percentage among those 19. The five p in that group with the LOWEST winning percentages are Eppa Rixey, Ted Lyons, Blyleven, Robin Roberts and Red Faber. All five are in the Hall of Fame.
