Go get that ring Nick.
And chase down 3,000 hits!

I bumped the other thread on Folty, but Soroka tore his right achilles and is out for the year.
My daughter tore hers end of February and she's still limping despite all the physical therapy. I know these guys get the premium care in the world, but her doc told her she's out of volleyball for a year.

Markakis hit his 500th career double last night. The next big milestone is probably 200 HR... he's at 189, so it probably won't be this year. 641 hits to get to 3,000, and 256 games in RF to tie the all-time record.

I don't think he's got the 4 years he'd need to get to 3000 in him. But would be really fun if he did!
Yeah, the injury last year and the shortened season this year probably ended whatever small chance he had at 3,000. Still, what a great career he's had. I hope he can remain a regular for another year or two (or four), but I don't know.

I don’t know. He’s very durable, he’s not a hulking guy like he’s gonna have detrimental injuries (Stanton, Judge, etc...) He‘ll be of value to teams who value a hit tool rather than a power tool. He could play til he’s 42, 43, and I wouldn’t be surprised.

I think it would be hard for him to find regular at bats as he approaches 40.

Odds are your right. But there are also some that defy the norm.

Markakis to the IL because of a possible COIVD exposure.

Just a periodic update on Markakis's career totals. He's at the point on the all-time lists for hits and doubles where every time he passes someone, it's a guy you've heard of.
He just passed Whitaker, Trammel, Michael Young, and Brett Butler to move into 130th place on the hits list, with 2,376. He's tied with Hall of Famer Edd Roush.
He has 509 doubles, 58th all-time. He just passed some guy named Babe Ruth, and he'll tie Rickey Henderson with one more double.

With Max Fried on the IR, Tommy Malone is now the Braves' most established starter - by a mile. And they're likely a playoff team. Ian Anderson is their #2 guy, and he lasted 3 innings his last start. Just a bizarre season.

29-9 and still might not have the biggest win margin on the day. Brewers won 19-0.
29-8 Braves in the 7th

And now Milone's on the IR. If you're a betting man, bet the over on Braves games.
