A cool 9th inning moment for the Braves in game 1.

Edit - what am I doing wrong in posting tweets?

The Braves have the lineup to stand up to the Dodgers.  This series may be fun to watch.

I'm not a huge fan of Ozuna. He was certainly important to their 2020 team and if they think that's real and can maintain the positive aspects of what he's done, they have the capacity to do it. DH will be permanent 2022 at the latest so there's room for the bat in the 'field'.

I think Acquavella's December article (2 above) is pretty spot on. Whether I agree or disagree with Ozuna (if I was them, I'd have preferred someone like Mancini) they've added a solid bat to that role.

Extending Freddie Freeman will be a second significant piece to their near-mid future.

The questions remain what they do with 3B and their OF. They can certainly roll with top prospects like Pache and Waters in the OF and let Riley keep trying his hand at 3B and hope something clicks, but like I discussed in the Braves/Mancini thread, guys like Gallo or Santander would still make a ton of sense for them and pursuing a 3B like Ramirez with Pache+.

Braves' Sean Kazmar makes history with first MLB appearance in more than 12 yearsPrior to Saturday's appearance, Kazmar had last played in the majors in 2008.

Ugly. Sounds like he may have significant legal issues as he's charged with a felony. In addition to what will certainly be a long suspension from MLB.

He should be banned from the sport, pending the full investigation. But sounds pretty cut and dry, as evidently, police witnessed the incident.

I certainly won't complain if MLB bans him outright once this is proven, but I'm more comfortable with a long suspension (I'm fine with setting a new precedent) from MLB and then all teams individually declining to consider signing him once he's eligible in a year or whenever.

I know it's not an exact correlary, but I like considering the league office as the "legal system" in these cases where I think punishments need to be somewhat consistent and based on previously agreed upon rules and then each team is more of the pirvate sector where they have every right to refuse to offer him a job.

He's being charged with strangulation, and while I understand why strangulation statutes are on the books, it's still a cute way of getting around attempted murder.

If he's convicted, he needs to be thrown out of the sport permanently.

Mike Soroka completely re-tears achilles tendon walking through the clubhouse.

Feel bad for him....he was one of the better up-and-coming young pitchers and this will cost him a lot more time.  2021 season is lost.

For those that think there's no player upside for getting locked into a contract, there's lots of examples where there is.  He was a super2 coming into 2021 (2.146) and he's not getting a raise for next year and he still has to prove he can pitch and get all the way back for his 2023 contract.
