The comments saying it's none of our business are interesting.  Peterson is saying that, due to the attention this incident received, he now realizes he shouldn't beat the crap out of his kid with a tree branch anymore.  So, by us sticking our nose in his business, we have potentially saved his kids from future beatings.   So, is it a good thing or a bad thing that we care about the "welps" on his kid's body?

People are always afraid to learn they live in a glass house after they start throwing stones. Great point that this may have been the only way he'd ever learn not to beat his child so badly (but I suspect he just learned to keep it from going public)

AP is being investigated for child abuse with a different son.

Not to make light of the situation, but there's a Chris Bridges song that comes to mind concerning this guy.

ESPN alert said it's another 4 year old.

How many kids does he have?

I understand the frustration, especially in this case since he admitted doing it to the kid basically, but you have to toe the line of caution and let the law run its course.  The double standard between the stars and the roster filler is a real issue, I agree with calling out that hypocrisy, but you can't just punish guys without certainty that they're guilty.

I'd go as far as to say that this isn't an NFL or Ravens or Vikings problem, this is an America problem.   If the fans and advertisers keep showing up, then the NFL/Ravens/Vikings are handling these situations just fine.

Goodell has had no issue doing this before.

I do think Rice should be locked up. Like we both said, apples and oranges. There's no excuse for what Rice did. I can see AP's reasoning. What Rice did was outright wrong. What AP did was a matter of degree, and something he clearly felt wasn't bad parenting.

By this logic, can't Rice say he didn't feel he was a bad boyfriend? Maybe she needed to be disciplined?

Stop right there. Adults DO NOT discipline other adults. You're statements, like many times in your posts are too black and white. This post is ridiculous.

Ray Rice's hands were documented as "deadly weapons" when he struck his fiancé.

Both were defenseless, both are terrible, and both are the result of very strong men letting their anger take over them and hurt the ones they love. Stop trying to say one is worse than the other because they both are tragic. This isn't a contest on who's case is the most tragic so stop making it one.

Domestic abuse and child abuse are both huge issues in the world and usually do not get a lot of coverage.

Maybe she needed discipline. For goodness sake what a terrible thing to say.

The reason I bring up that APete is worse(and he is) is because all the attention on Rice and this isn't getting the attention it deserves...and that is coming from someone who can't stand the self righteous shitheads who want to tell parents how to discipline their kids and what they can and can not do.

However, this went too far and the lack of outrage/coverage about this, especially compared to rice, is terrible. It's a joke and now, AP will be back on the field?

What would people say if Rice won his appeal and the Ravens signed him back and started him?

And btw, the context of what I said seemed to fly over your head...either that or you are being too sensitive and not understanding the point.

Now on Fox: @getnickwright telling us there MAY be another (3rd) incident involving Peterson and a child.

This story is getting a lot of attention and many want the NFL to suspend Peterson. The video is the main difference IMO in terms of just how much coverage and outrage there's been..

Considering he has so many kids, I'm guessing there have been many incidents based on his attitude and what's been reported.

PFT pointed out that the NFL suspended Roethlisberger after his second sexual assault allegation, even though it was just that.

Which is dumb...there are pictures of what AP did. It's essentially the same thing.

It's pretty sad that people need to witness APete brutally beating a 4 year old to get into more of an uproar about it.

It's human nature and it's very far from the same thing. Other domestic violence cases don't get the same attention as Rice's case. That's regardless of evidence. So that's apples to apples with the videos being the difference. This isn't about beating women generating more interest/outrage than beating children. It's about how seeing such a despicable act generates more interest/outrage.

And now the Vikings have changed their minds and barred AP until the legal stuff plays out.

Screw you, Vikings, you have no concept of right and wrong. Try growing your own conscience instead of mooching off of ours.
