ESPN: Son of Adrian Peterson critically hurt

http://espn.go.com/n...red-father-says

This is one of the worst things I read in a long time. I can't even imagine what would possess someone to beat up a defenseless infant.

I heard about this on NFL Radio. I hope his son pulls through OK and that piece of shit who did this never breathes free air ever again.

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

I think any DA will make an example out of this guy, knowing the attention this case will get.

The boy died. Terrible story and yes, that man should go to jail for a long long time.

Crushing.   The Vikings' season was over before it began.  Let the man have as many weeks off as he needs.

I often "work" on child abuse cases in that I do genetic testing to rule out OI (brittle bone disease)- but the patients I test for are all still alive. This is just nauseous.

He said that he would play Sunday. But that was before the boy passed. We'll see if that changes.

He can comeback whenever he wants, it's not exactly over though. Not sure what he wants to do, but for some people returning to the playing field helps them heal. It sounded like he was leaning that way before this happened, who knows now though.

Everyone has been respectful in this thread, but I'd personally prefer it if we didn't discuss how this will affect Peterson playing.

Playing after tragedy is therapy. Staying home doesn't change what life has thrown at you Playing in their honor is rewarding for the family

From the reports, he wasn't sure the child was his until recently and wasn't really involved.

That is horrible what happened! The man that did this needs to be put away for a long time... if he even makes it....

That's probably his other young son. Just a guess though.<br />

There's been a lot of speculation about this... don't really care about that right now. It's just a terrible story. And yes, it would be a non-story nationally if it wasn't the son of a football player.

That picture is floating around right now, like Weber said it might not even be the one who died.

I only mentioned it because it could affect his frame of mind in regards to this.
