I liked Delmonico as a prospect... but really excited about the acquisition of Rodriguez. Huge move!

I dislike acquiring players who get arrested for domestic abuse (twice).

I can't blame you at all for that stance. I've had it previously for other players (Callaspo sp?) when their potential acquisitions have been discussed.
However, sticking to the play between the lines, this is a huge move for this team imo.

I hate it. Why would you give up a legit prospect for a rental reliever?
Because you are trying to win in '13, and Delmonico is a good, not great prospect.
Rodriguez gives you another option in that Johnson, O'Day, Hunter mix... makes the entire group better, and essentially replaces Ascensio in the bullpen now.

I said I wanted Rodriguez and Morse.... 1/2 way there.

They couldn't get him for less though? It just seems like a lot for a rental to me.Because you are trying to win in '13, and Delmonico is a good, not great prospect.

He has not been great since he lost his velocity and he has stranded almost all of his baserunners.
Regression.
So, it is not like the team got an elite relief arm. He is good though as a reliever.
And he has been arrested for beating up an old man and another time for hurting the mother of his child.

Ray Lewis was arrested and he is getting a statue built. Its sports, those things don't matter to most people. He has not been great since he lost his velocity and he has stranded almost all of his baserunners.

I hate bullpen pitching roles, but does K-Rod become our setup man with him being a prime suspect to assume closer duties if Johnson starts to struggle again?

When Ray Lewis beats up old men and women, let me know.

I don't have to like him as a man.... there are plenty of players on the current roster I do like though, and this increases their odds of playing meaningful games in October.

Answered my own question...
Brittany Ghiroli @Britt_Ghiroli 29s
Duquette said Rodriguez addition bolstered the pitching staff. Will pitch 7th,8th and 9th inning.

Eh, I have a line. At some point, baseball becomes simply a game.
