I do not follow Hockey at all, and was wondering when was the last time the Capitals didn't make the playoffs?
The Wiz make it, but not the Caps.

They were talking about this the other day on CSN, IIRC the Caps/Wizards have only played concurrently in the playoffs 4x. The Caps last didn't make the playoffs in 2007, Wizards did that year.

Actually, more of goes to show how bad the Bullets/Wizards have been. Capitals made it to 14 straight playoffs at one point in the 80s and 90's.

Fair enough. They were bad early on, though, when the Wiz-lets went on some of their runs.

Probably about 10 seconds after TB scores to go up 1-0... Plekanec absolutely bitches a Tampa defender and snipes one home top shelf to tie it up for Montreal. That should be one of the top plays tomorrow morning.

It lessens the travel for Detroit and fewer games in other timezones. Haven't they been trying to get in the Eastern Conference for a while, I thought I remembered reading that.
