You're on the right track with naming it after players, but here's a better list.
Gretzky, Howe, Orr, Lemieux
One other positive of realignment is that ever team will have at minimum a home and home with every other team in the NHL.
Howe and Orr are good. Maybe Hull for both generations. Definitely not Lindros.
I just got stuck in the generation of hockey I remember the most. Be happy I didn't suggest Mike Richter.

Anyone see Patrick Roy got into a yelling match with Boudreau and almost shoved down the wall in his NHL coaching debut? And is anyone surprised?

The NHL has sold 105,500 tickets for the event, the league confirmed Tuesday. Believe it or not, that doesn’t constitute a sellout in the truest sense of the word. Michigan Stadium could fit an additional several thousand fans – the football capacity is 109,901 – and tickets for the event remained available on NHL.com as of Tuesday afternoon.

Best thing the NHL does or really any sports league. I just hope the stadium series thing doesn't delude it. I'm looking forward to the Caps getting it next year.

The only thing about the elements (which is freaking awesome), is that the snow on the ice is making the puck handling very, very sloppy.

And no heaters available except for the heated benches for the players. Thought it was great too that the ref had to get a replacement whistle because the ball in his original whistle had frozen inside and wasn't moving. Gotta love it.

Nice to see how well this game has worked out for the NHL. Hard to believe it was just 6 years ago that people thought the idea of this game was a joke, and even the league itself wasn't sure it would take off.
