Wow....just saw this.

I guess he sees the writing on the wall and wants to be in the ACC.

What writing on the wall? Marquette loves him.

Great hire for VaTech. Good get. 7 years? Interesting.

Retweeted by Rick Broering

Sources have told @CBSSports that former UCLA coach Ben Howland is expected to be involved at Marquette.

Howland wouldn't be terrible.

I'm not too surprised. He was talking to Auburn about the job before we got Pearl. Not sure why he wants out of Marquette.

Who goes to Wake? Is it still considered a good job.

Either that or get someone of a lesser caliber. He has leverage.

Uncertainty with the new Big East?

I'd say so, it's in the ACC, good recruiting base, Duke/UNC(and NC St) can't get everyone. Bzdelik brought the program down but a new coach could get it back to where it was under Proesser.

Are more teams leaving? Gtown, Nova, Marquette is a good foundation. Creighton and Butler are solid.

Better to be a big fish in a small pond than pond scum in the ACC.

No I think realignment is over for the most part, who knows?

I more meant who knows how good Marquette will be in the new league.

They should try to grab Wichita. Maybe another MVC team.

Skip was a very good coach. It would be tough to find another guy like him. Or Dave Odom.

What names could they go after?

Public school. Don't see it happening.

If and when the league expands it will be SLU and one other.

As for Buzz, he's getting over $2.5m at Vatech. Reading Marquette boards, seems he has been having issues with the current administration.

Wasn't he flirting with other schools last year or the year before?

You Maryland fans have to get it out of your heads that you guys leaving matters..Louisville is a way better program.

ACC is going dominate, especially when Louisville gets in.

Having Cuse, Duke, UNC and Louisville is pretty ridiculous. Those are 4 of the top 10 programs in the country.

Add in Pitt, who is usually a top 20 program and you have a very good 5 every year.

Then, you add in UVA, FSU, etc...teams that are good in some years and you have an excellent conference.

As a coach, you may want to be part of that and get out of the Big East(which isn't bad but not at that level).

It's mostly tongue-in-cheek... I'm baiting you guys a bit lately just having some fun.

Yes I've said how great a get L'Ville was... to go along with Pitt and Cuse. It's a net win for the ACC, and it's not particularly close.

That said I do think the B1G is also going to be a force. I think they will interchangeably compete for top dogs.
