They shouldve hired Buck instead of Tingler.
Isn’t the plan to win a World Series though?

Gotta get to the playoffs before you can win it.

Melvin may have to step on some ego's in San Diego, but he will get it right..
It sounds like the A's may enter the tanking division of MLB.

Hopefully the A’s will take the place of the O’s there.

@hgomez27·Nelson Cruz, the most coveted DH in free agency, is finalizing details for his new deal with a National League team, per @TenchyRodNYC. twitter.com/TenchyRodNYC/s…
Rumored to be the Padres.
Have bat will travel. His leadership may be needed there more than the bat. There seem to be some immature, characters there.

Per sources, the Padres are "aggressively shopping" both Eric Hosmer & Wil Myers. Hosmer: * 4 years/$60M left on deal * Limited no-trade (can block deals to 10 teams) * can opt out after '22 * 10-5 rights after '22 Myers: * owed $20M in '22 * $20M '23 club option ($1M buyout)
They aren't aggressively shopping them, they are DESPERATELY trying to get rid of them. Easy opportunity for a team aligned to take salary. This was the Matt Kemp discussion for years. Easy opportunity to create value to accomplish something in a trade.

Tatis broke his wrist during the lockout, and will be out for 3 months.

Also, announced that Tatis Jr fractured his wrist earlier in the off-season and will require surgery. Miss ~3 months.
Contracts are all about risk management and there's always this type of risk for the player when they aren't locked into money.
Great player....but sitting on the bench in a big year for that team.

How much contract needs to come back to get Gore?
Is there anyone else worth the trouble?

I don't think this would even be an Oriole play at this point, even if they were willing to leverage the situation.
Maybe if I wanted to do Mancini and Tavera for Myers and CJ Abrams....something like that.
Gore is buy low...his prospect star took a big hit last year. They aren't an interesting system for me today and they were #1 for 3 years and have little on their ML roster to show for it.
--------------------
For me, it would be a team like the Royals or Mets.
Royals were his original team and you can get an OFer or 2 for the trouble..
Met's would be the other one with Cano as an offset. Do something like Cano and Dom Smith for Hosmer and Hassell. You have some money you need to bump around and then Cano just gets released and goes to the house.

Love the Padres getting Manaea. Obviously the Dodgers are great, and being without Tatis for months isn't something you just overcome... but the Padres still have a lot of talent.
