Caps have been such a solid home team this year, by winning one in Beantown and securing home ice advantage is a huge swing in this series and I have to be honest, I didn't expect this from Holtby.

Saw him play a few times in Hershey and while he was okay, I wasn't impressed at a "NHL Playoff Level."

He had a rough year this season, same as Neuvy because they were told one thing starting the offseason, and then Vokoun was signed going back on what they were told. They had a long period of not knowing if they wanted to be here anymore, it was a mess.

Yeah, I wasnt a fan of the Vokoun signing and can see how is can mess with both Neuvy and Holtby's confidence.

How doomed does everyone think the Caps are without Backstrom even for only one game?

This is where I put my money on the table and says that Holtby is series MVP.

Just reminding everyone that I said this before game 1...just sayin'. ;)

Big game today!!! Since tomorrows game start will be less than 24 hours from today game ending, I think all the momentum from today's game will carry over to tomorrows game. I find it very likely that whoever wins today's game 5 will win tomorrows game 6 and the series. If you want to watch the game with some other Caps fans and all around cool people come on over to Glory Days inTowson today. We will have a great time!!!

This is going to be tough on Holtby I think. Knowing he's got a back to back in the playoffs and probably hasn't started a back to back series all season. That's a lot of pressure to win today in case he isn't his sharpest tomorrow at home.

I like Erskine staying in, but the bane of my offseason, Joel Ward is making $4m to sit out now. That $4m plus Semin's money off the books could have gotten us Parise to replace Semin when he walks.

The fact that they're doing this with virtually no contribution from Ovechkin is cause for optimism. This is a team that has relied too heavily on him in the past, and he's always let them down. Now they seem to believe they can do this as long as they get decent goaltending, which is exactly what the NHL postseason is all about.

Just want to say major kudos to Chris, I know that hockey and the Caps isn't your thing. First great to start this board. Second, posting all these articles.

It was in my contract that he had to follow them to keep me happy as a signing bonus ;)

Again...just a reminder who was the guy that said Holtby would be series MVP before it started? (and the ONLY guy in the country to say it apparently)

Oh yeah...THIS guy.

Not a hockey fan, but I've watched a lot of this series.

Another OT game. I can't get over how ridiculously close this series has been. Very enjoyable, even for the non hockey fan.

Kinda boring without too much scoring, but this is a good series for a casual/non-fan. Very tight, edge of your seat hockey.
