Seems like we've been saying this for a while now, but perhaps this is finally the year New Orleans makes the leap to playoff contender. Like the Asik addition....he and Davis should be able to form one of the top interior defensive combos in the league. And offensively....well....he should at least be able to stay out of Davis' way.

They were an 8-seed last season, and I'd put money on them to be a 7 or 8 seed this season....so yeah, they've "kept pace" with the West. They just haven't gained any ground on the front-runners.
