Woj has brought up the chance that a contender trades for him now and then looks to move him to LA or Boston after the season..recoup what you trade.

Not a bad idea.

The Lakers should basically say take whatever.

Perhaps Pels get #1 draft pick, like Wiz got Wall. I wouldn't put him in
Boston or LA just yet. They have another year of control.

Davis is apparently going to make it clear he will only sign an extension in LA.

Knicks could offer Porzingis plus their first this year (they could argue over if it's top 1 projected or not).

Depending on how hard Davis pushes for the Lakers, if at all, it could make more sense for the Pelicans to wait til the summer so the Celtics can get involved and so they know the draft order.

Btw, on The Lowe Post, Windhorst mentioned the possibility of Kyrie going to the Lakers as a free agent, and he mentioned it multiple times.

Maybe. How well Porzingis recovers from his ACL is a big concern. Beyond that, if the pick is top 1 projected and KD wants to go there, that could obviously work. Even without the protection, the highest percentage chance of getting the top pick is 14%.

The thing is, the Lakers offer really isn’t that impressive.

Ingram isnt developing like they hoped, Lonzo is just ok. Kuzma is good but he’s not a guy you build around.

It’s a lot of role player, secondary type pieces. It’s not any potential stud, high end guys. You can’t win without those guys.

If you can end up with one of Williamson, Morant or Barrett, that is probably better than anything the Lakers offer.

Btw, it’s not that I don’t think Ingram is good and he is only 21, so there is a lot of development left there.

But I think they would have expected him to be better by now and be providing more of an impact.

I think it's unlikely that any one of those 3 young Lakers become superstars, but I do think all of them have star potential.

Getting those guys and dealing Holiday could lead to getting a solid pick this year and possibly next, but they could easily become kind of like the Nets are right now, which is fun. Ther upside would be decent imo, but sure, a superstar developing or entering the picture would seem unlikely.

But yeah, various other teams can beat what the Lakers would be offering. It's a matter of if any of these teams want to risk giving up a Simmons, Tatum, Porzingis, a potential top 3 pick, etc and then not get his signature.

I don’t think Boston trades Tatum, especially without an extension.

Boston has all those first round picks, which are valuable but you just never know how those things fall.

NY isn’t likely to trade thir first round pick if Davis doesn’t want to sign there and if you are NO and you deal Davis to the Knicks right now, they likely win enough games to where you don’t end up with a top 3 pick.

Lakers May be the best offer and they maybe should just take it now.

Davis has had his fair share of injuries, so you don’t want something bad happening.

Some teams might risk giving up a lot without an extension as long as he's not saying he'll only sign with the Lakers, which may be the case.

But we have seen two examples of teams betting on their culture and success to keep guys. It worked with George and we'll see with Leonard, who's in a great situation, but still seems very into going to the Clippers.

If Boston, New York (with KD), or Philly land Davis, it will be tough to leave that situation assuming it's going well. Plus, joining up with LeBron won't likely be as enticing a year and a half from now.

It's pretty crazy that Kyrie is apparently seriously interested in joining back up with LeBron.

AD is also very close with Kyrie.
