He's become a very good NBA player.

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

Always knew Greivis had it in him. I really dislike NBA basketball, but everytime I hear about something good Greivis is doing, I can't help but smile. I love that guy. And even better: He stayed in school and did it the right way. Sometimes you can have plenty of talent (Stoglin, J. Williams), and be sitting on the bench in the NBA, or in Stoglin's case playing in Europe. Alex Len should take notice.

Next time you want to impress some folks at a sports bar, ask them who leads the NBA in assists this year.

SB Nation: Vasquez exceeds all expectations, except his own
http://www.sbnation....ns-hornets-2013

Grevis is never going to wow scouts with his speed, jumping ability, defensive abilities etc, but what he is, is a player. Plain and simple. Some guys far exceed the sum of their parts. He is a player!! Glad to see his game translates to the NBA. Give em hell Grevis.

Always amazing to me to think how many hours and how much $ was invested in making this decision, and the end result could have been drawn up by my neighbor's dog.

So when the name changed I was imagining the uniforms being unique, colorful, and definitely containing some form of a Pelican on them. I also imagined myself buying a Vasquez jersey. Instead there is Tyreke Evans to not look forward to and boring ass uniforms.

NBA uniforms are rarely attention-grabbing, so this anticlimactic "unveiling" is no surprise. I think college basketball will be the first ones to break that barrier.

It's a little different when you are changing the brand.

I think to some degree the league has input or at least final approval on this, and I think Stern & Co. prefer to keep their uniforms more understated (relatively speaking).

I believe that's true in all leagues. Doesn't matter, they could've done better on this one -- as Peter joked with his dog's neighbor. The Wizards uniform changes back to the Bullets was more exciting than this. A lot of "doable" things would've been better than this.

That's just awful. And hard to fathom how someone who so seemingly had it all could end their life like that. Goes to show how little we really know about the people on the other side of our TV/computer screen.

Really sad, shows you these celebrities despite their fame and fortune have many of the same problems like the rest of us. While I would love to have some financial security, I hardly think it's solves all the problems one has.

Well, I say, well, that is one fine-lookin' rooster, if I do, I say, if I do say so myself.

ESPN: Pelicans uniting with Smoothie King

http://espn.go.com/n...hie-king-center

The New Orleans Pelicans will announce on Thursday a 10-year naming rights deal that will result in their home being called the Smoothie King Center.

The entrance will feature two 20-foot high Smoothie King cups that will be in place in time for next weekend's NBA All-Star Game. The company's logo will also be on the roof of the arena.
