It's maybe looking a little brighter in the Inner Habor, but I see people walking outside with umbrellas.

Does anyone else get a bad vibe that Eflin hasn’t been announced as tomorrow’s starter? I mean, hopefully he is okay and it’s not injury related.
This was odd to me too. Maybe they have a different plan depending on today's result.
Lose today and you can't save anybody for anything, Eflin goes tomorrow. Win today, maybe you use Kremer tomorrow and hope you can get Eflin as game 1 vs the Yanks. If you lose tomorrow then Eflin goes in game 3.
Not saying I'd do that, but maybe that's it.

I'm a little worried, because he was inexplicably wild in his last start. Hopefully him being on the WC roster is a good sign.

I heard Eflin doesnt have good numbers vs the Royals. I didnt confirm that. If they win today I think there is a real chance they throw Dean tomorrow. As Mack pointed out last week, Eflin has good numbers against the Yanks outside of Soto
His career stats vs the Royals are not good, 5.09 ERA, but he's been in the league a while and what really matters are the players actually on the team today, no idea on that. He had one bad game against them this year while still on the Rays, 5 runs in 5 innings.

The other thing Ive heard is if Eflin can start Gm1 in NY then its possible that Eflin and Burnes can pitch 4 of the potential 5 games in NY because of the off days

Yeah there’s a lot of off days. That’s why I say above they may try to sneak through without using him, but if they have an elimination game they’ll use him.

Looks like all 3 WC games will be played during Rosh Hashana - not sure how Kremer feels about that, although I think Sandy Koufax pitched during Rosh Hashana and sat out for Yom Kippur (which is Oct 11-12).

That's where my mind goes when hearing their reluctance to name him for Game 2. Could also be concern about Eflin after his erratic start last week or could just be them wanting to keep KC guessing for some reason, but if they can win in two games without using Eflin, then you can go Eflin, off, Burnes, off, Kremer, Eflin, off, Burnes.
You'd still be able to start Eflin in Game 3 if you fall there. Me...I'd just start Burnes and Eflin. Win and move on then figure out the next round once you're there.

He pitched a day game on 9/17 last year, which google tells me was still Rosh Hashana. He didn't pitch any of the relevant days from 2020-22 it seems. He wouldn't be on the roster if he wasn't able to pitch though.

The goal is to advance but the real goal is to win it all, so I don't mind trying to set up the rotation for next round. Ultimately you will start Burnes, Kremer, and Eflin if you need to.
If they left him off the roster completely hoping to save him for later I would strongly disagree with it.

It's sad how little the demand for tickets is regardless of the time and the weather, which isn't even all that bad in either case.
Agree. I mean Im not there so I cant say too much but Im disappointed

Yeah, I agree, it isn’t often that I wish I was in Baltimore rather than here in sunny Florida. However, today is one of those days, unfortunately just couldn’t make it happen.

I'll be there, but I very much overpaid based on the cratering secondary market.
