There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."
"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

Its def a guy in the 2025 rotation mix. See who emerges behind GRod, Eflin and hopefully another known quantity. It wont be Burnes but hopefully a solid FA

Yeah I don't mind a cheap reclamation project with a couple more years of control, even though the price still feels too high. I just don't like it on deadline day when we were all hoping for someone better. May not even bump Kremer out of the playoff rotation.

What the hell happened to Rogers between '21 and '22? He got hurt last year and his velocity is down 2 MPH since then (his changeup is actually faster now, which is bad), but he had already fallen on his face the year prior to the injury.

Eh. Basically the O's have too many ready prospects and maybe they can fix Rogers.
Not very inspiring.
And to further try to put lipstick on this trade, he frames it in comparison to the ridiculous price the Astros paid to Toronto.
Good news! I saw a dog today.

But again he's got just under 2 hours to turn this around.

To me, this kind of kills any shot at getting Burnes to resign here. He doesn't have to look past the dugout tomorrow to see just how much a winner this FO is trying to build. Not a positive picture.
But again he's got just under 2 hours to turn this around.
Burnes won't care about anything but the dollar amount. I'm highly skeptical they make the biggest offer, but if they do I'm 100% certain he'll sign it.

And that is not a compliment.

I think it's fair at this point to be critical of this facet of Elias's skillset. Not trading, per se - he's made some solid trades in a vacuum. But rounding out the roster. Going for it, so to speak.

We just need to come to terms with the fact that he’s simply not willing to part with upper echelon prospects. He’s the bizarro San Diego Padres
That's what the off-season is for.
